Former Manchester United defender Wes Brown has insisted that his former club are beginning to get good competition for places in the team, including the defensive department and that it is good for the team as a whole. The former defender said it is a great idea for two or more players to be fighting for every spot in the team as it helps the squad depth and improves players’ abilities as well.
The tough Ivorian defender is back with the squad after having to deal with a couple of niggling injuries so far this campaign, helping to make sure that Olé Gunnar Solskjær has more options in that department, as well as providing more stability to the squad in general. Bailly has been randomly rotated with Swedish center-back Victor Lindelöf as Solskjær continues to look for the best defensive partner for Maguire, but according to Brown, the Swede and the Ivory Coast international defenders could be paired together in Central defense while Maguire should be handed some rest.
The former Red Devil was speaking to Stadium Astro where he made the remarks, insisting that the Manchester United defenders have been great so far this season despite starting the campaign on a bad note. He said while there have been some defensive errors in the past, the fact that more players come in now to compete for places in the squad has helped the team a lot.
